Students will also get the opportunity to tour of the 911th Airlift Wing base in Coraopolis, Pa. on Oct. 14.

Walker also noted the many academic opportunities students are taking advantage of locally, including the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center, the College Credit Plus Program and Pre-Apprenticeships.

He said 73 students are currently enrolled full-or-part-time at the career center and 41 are taking advantage of dual-enrollment coursework, earning a combined 337 college credit hours.

Another 51 students are anticipated to earn credentials through the Hospitality & Tourism Pre-Apprenticeship program this school year, he said.
