Akron Children’s Mobile Care Unit coming to East Liverpool City Schools

EAST LIVERPOOL --East Liverpool City Schools will welcome the Akron Children's Mobile Care Unit to the district, bringing convenient, high-quality pediatric healthcare services directly to Potter students and families.

The Mobile Care Unit, operated by Akron Children's in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio, is a fully equipped medical clinic on wheels providing in-person care for children and young adults from birth through age 21.

Upcoming East Liverpool City Schools Visits

Thursday, Oct. 15: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at North Elementary & East Liverpool Jr./Sr. High School, 90 Maine Blvd.

Wednesday, Dec. 2: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at LaCroft Elementary School

April 2027: Date and location to be announced

A third Mobile Care Unit visit will be added to the district schedule. Additional details will be shared once finalized.

All East Liverpool City Schools Students Are Welcome

Any East Liverpool City Schools student may participate on any of the scheduled Mobile Care Unit dates, regardless of which district school they attend.Students are not limited to the visit being hosted at their home school, allowing families to choose the date and location that works best for them.

Services Available

The Akron Children's Mobile Care Unit offers a variety of pediatric healthcare services, including: Well-child visits, Immunizations, Non-emergency acute illness care, Developmental screenings, Adolescent healthcare, Asthma care, including inhaler and spacer education, Lead and hemoglobin screenings and Referrals for specialty care.

During a visit, Akron Children's healthcare professionals can assess a child's needs and provide appropriate exams, screenings or vaccinations. Patients can also receive health education and preventive-care guidance, along with referrals and follow-up recommendations when continued or specialized care is needed.

How to Sign Up

Families interested in having their child receive services through the Mobile Care Unit should contact their child's school nurse to complete the required paperwork prior to the visit.

Families are encouraged to contact their child's nurse in advance to allow time for all necessary paperwork to be completed.

The addition of a third Mobile Care Unit visit in April 2027will provide Potter families with another opportunity during the 2026-2027 school year to access these important services.
