Rides for the Johnny Appleseed Festival in downtown Lisbon await some riders after being set up Friday. The festival that's all about apples and Johnny Appleseed takes place today and Sunday. Today's activities include the fire department's pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m., there parade along Lincoln Way from Pritchard to Beaver at 10:45 a.m., the Apple Bud and Apple Blossom crowning at noon, the Apple Seed's Got Talent Show at 12:30 p.m., followed by Wilson Hill at 2:30 p.m., Adam Kiosk at 4:30 p.m., McLaughlin Martial Arts in front of the main stage at 5:30 p.m. and New Wave Nation at 8 p.m. Sunday activities include the 10 a.m. church service with Lisbon Assembly of God, the group Junkyard at noon, the 1 p.m. apple pie contest at the gazebo, the car show at the Fairway car lot from 1 to 4 p.m., the apple sack decorating contest judging at 2:30 p.m., the duck race down the hill on Jefferson by the Eagles at 3:45 p.m., Pure Gold from 4 to 6 p.m. and the announcement and crowning of the new queen and first attendant at 5 p.m. The Quilt Show takes place both days, along with the Lisbon Historical Society museums open and lots of food choices, including apple ice cream, apple dumplings and apple fritters.
