EAST LIVERPOOL -- East Liverpool City Schools officially welcomed the newest Potters during New Teaching Staff Orientation held Aug. 20-21, providing new educators with an opportunity to connect with district leadership, learn about available resources and prepare for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

The district welcomes the following new staff members: Erin Benner, Lori Burse, Mackenzie Jeric, Stephanie Linder, Kalean Lipps, Adison Rayl, Emily Starkey, Michael Hill and Leanne Headley.

Throughout the two-day orientation, new educators networked with building principals, members of the East Liverpool City Schools Board of Education and district administrators. Sessions were designed to introduce staff members to the people, programs and resources that will support them as they begin their careers with the district.

Orientation activities included a district overview, introductions to administrators, technology training, information about the district's mentoring program, professional development, online training sessions and opportunities to meet with building principals and tour their schools.

New staff members also learned about district technology and communication platforms, curriculum and instructional resources, student information systems, district procedures and other tools they will use throughout the school year. The orientation concluded with time for educators to become familiar with their buildings and prepare their classrooms.

The orientation is part of East Liverpool City Schools' commitment to providing new educators with the support, resources and professional connections necessary to successfully serve students and families from their first day in the district.

The first day of school for students in grades 1 through 12 is Monday, Aug. 31. Kindergarten students will have a staggered start Sept. 1 through 3, and the first day of preschool is Tuesday, Sept. 8.
