WELLSVILLE -- The Wellsville Police Department recently spruced up the outside of village hall.
Lt. Marsha Eisenhart told council Tuesday members of the police department started to work on the front of village hall to make it look better because people were saying how bad it appeared.
Police officers put flowerpots, flowers and benches in front of the building which they plan to change with the seasons.
Eisenhart also noted that there were wires sticking up from the concrete from light poles that had never been replaced. Rick Winston fixed up the concrete where there were holes and they received quite a bit of help from the street department.
They are requesting permission for Fiscal Officer Hoi Wah Yu to order lights for outside village hall at an estimated total of $2,000 for four of them.
Eisenhart also reported that officers working with the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office to search for someone with a warrant ending up finding someone else with a warrant. She said information posted on Facebook regarding the incident was wrong and requested residents to call the police department for correct information instead of turning to Facebook.
Also at the meeting, Village Administrator Jerry Medley said village employees were busy cleaning up trees and trying to keep the grass cut and that they were a little behind because of the rainy weather causing delays. He noted that First Christian Church would be doing some work around the park next month to try to help out the community.
The Wellsville Village Council meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., in council chambers at Wellsville Village Hall, 1200 Main St., Wellsville, Ohio. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 3.
