LISBON -- Area residents are being reminded about the e-waste drop off event happening from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the parking lot of the Columbiana County Courthouse at the corner of South Beaver Street and West Washington Street.

Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson mentioned the electronics recycling event during the village council meeting this week, noting it's not only for Lisbon residents, but anyone.

GreenBoard IT is handling the recycling of electronics dropped off, with cash only accepted for the fees for TVs and CRT monitors, which will be taken for $20 each, and printers which will be $10 each.

Most other material will be accepted free of charge, including personal computers, laptops, phones, scanners, hard drives, servers, unused printer cartridges/toner, cell phones, stereos, VCR/DVD players, routers, MP3 players, cameras, keyboards, paper shredders, LCD monitors, game consoles/accessories, networking equipment and UPS (uninterruptible power supply).

Wilson said this is the third year Lisbon has hosted the electronics recycling, which is also being promoted by the Carroll Columbiana Harrison Solid Waste District.

The mayor also reminded residents about the community yard sale in Lisbon from July 23-25. The deadline for registering with the village at 330-424-5503, extension 1860 is today, with at least 30 sales registered so far. All sales that are registered will be promoted on the list of sales. Yard permit fees will be waived for that weekend for this first-ever community yard sale.
