East Liverpool’s youngest students celebrated their next step, moving on to kindergarten, with the preschool graduation ceremony held on May 28.

Ludwig said Student Exchange Day for preschool and fourth- and sixth-grade students was successful in transitioning these students into the new buildings for the upcoming school year.

The district hosted the induction ceremony for NJHS, NHS and NTHS during which students were recognized for excellence in academics, leadership, service and character.

The district also celebrated students at the annual Merit Awards and Scholar of the Month Luncheon, which Ludwig noted is a long stand tradition to recognize outstanding academic achievement.

After the commencement ceremonies, the district hosted the sixth annual Graduation Reception which honored commencement speaker Jessica Martin Borza and helped strengthen connections between East Liverpool City Schools, City of East Liverpool officials and the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association Board, according to Ludwig.

Congratulations went out to the East Liverpool High School Hall of Fame’s newest inductees: Anson Wiegand, district treasurer; Mallory Schell-Wines; Eric Mabbott; Maurice Brown; Jimmy Joe Savage; Bob Kelly; Kevin Smith; Emma Ludwig; Tresean Jackson; and Josh Stansbury.

The district is launching a new summer meal program to help provide meals delivered to students’ homes from June through August to help ensure students have nutritious meals during the summer.
