EAST LIVERPOOL — Community members gathered Sunday at the East Liverpool Elks Lodge #258 to celebrate Flag Day and honor the enduring symbol of freedom, unity and sacrifice represented by the American flag.

The annual Flag Day Service featured patriotic music, reflections on the history of the American flag, and recognition of the values that unite communities across the nation. The program included performances by Erin Green, an invocation by Chaplain Rick Steffen, and historical remarks presented by Exalted Ruler Anthony “Zig” Zirillo.

A highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address delivered by Ian McNally, president of Hilltop Energy, U.S. Army veteran, and husband of LaCroft Elementary School Principal Stacy McNally. McNally shared his journey from military service to leadership in the energy industry, emphasizing the importance of service, integrity, hard work, and commitment to community.

A 2001 graduate of Keystone Oaks High School, McNally served in the United States Army from 2001 to 2004 as a Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic before earning a degree in Political Science from Bethany College and later an MBA from West Liberty University. His message encouraged attendees to embrace the values that strengthen both communities and the nation.

Starting at $3.75/week.
