ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP — Detective Chase Askounes, Patrolman Mikayla McCulley and Administrator Herman Potts, St. Clair Police Department (SCPD), gathered at Tri-State Ford in East Liverpool Thursday morning to accept a check from the dealership for $5,000 for the SCPD’s Fore Cops and Kids fundraising golf outing.

Potts said that Tri-State Ford is the main sponsor for the golf outing, and the donation goes toward that and all the other good things the department does through the Fore Cops and Kids and other programs.

“We are very proud to have them as a sponsor for it and are very thankful because that helps out with a lot of the upstart cost and things like that for running it,” Potts said. “It’s very beneficial to us and it’s great support from the community members.

Nicholas Pirl, general sales manager, Tri-State Ford, said that they were excited and glad to be a part of it.

He told the officers, “All you guys do for us, I’m a St. Clair Township resident myself and you have had a rough go the last year or so, but we definitely support our police department for sure.”

Potts said he believes the event will be sold out when it comes to the number of team it can accommodate and they currently have 42-hole sponsors. He also noted that the golf outing is the department’s main fundraiser for the year.

“If it wasn’t for good people like this who are supportive of it, we wouldn’t be able to do it,” Potts said.

The Fore Cops and Kids Golf Outing will take place May 16 at Turkana Golf, with registration beginning at 7:45 a.m. and a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Starting at $2.99/week.
