EAST LIVERPOOL — First Weekends on 5th, formerly known as First Friday on 5th, kicks off this weekend in downtown East Liverpool.

Tamar Cooper, East Liverpool, said the event has now grown into something much bigger and is expanding to include both Friday and Saturday to create more opportunities for the community, vendors and local businesses to thrive.

Each month First Weekends on 5th will feature live entertainment, food trucks and a vibrant downtown atmosphere. Saturdays will feature vendors, farmers’ market, family friendly shopping and continued energy downtown.

Live music will go from 6 to 10 p.m. on the first Friday. The summer lineup consists of 7% Superstar on May1; Let’s Groove, and Earth Wind and Fire Tribute band on June 5; No Funk No Justice on July 3; Rumors on August 7 and Full Circle on Sept. 4.

The Saturday Downtown Market will be on May 2, June 6, July 4, Aug. 8 and Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is led by the East Liverpool Community Partnership for Revitalization (ELCPR) who are putting emphasis on First Weekends on 5th being about more than just events, but also about investing in downtown and building long-term momentum for East Liverpool.

First Weekends on 5th will take place the first weekend of each month from May through September. All activities will take place on 5th Street.
