She said three Garfield students represented the school at the County Art Show: Scarlett Mason, who received reserved of show, Josphine Bryan and Addyson LaClair.

Householder said NWEA Map testing was completed in mid-February with 100% of the students in kindergarten through second grade being on track.

She shared with the board the school’s plans to continue servicing students through their Reading Improvement Plans and receive high dosage tutoring, and while the MAP testing showed growth, they fell short of their goal by a few percentile points.

She discussed all areas of testing with the board, including where the students were the strongest and where the weak points were, and the school’s plan to help students continue improving.

Clemmer also noted the school is preparing for state testing next week and teachers have met with each student to let them know how close they are to being proficient or bumping up to the next level and that the school has some testing incentives for the students, such as headphones and field trips.

Clemmer and Householder both noted that group photos will be taken on March 18 and Magic Moments will be providing each student with one free of charge.
