CCBDD celebrates Developmental Disabilities Month
LISBON — The Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) is celebrating Developmental Disabilities Month throughout March.
CCBDD Superintendent Bill Devon told the told board members Wednesday events were being held daily to celebrate. He also thanked the Columbiana County Commissioners for their proclamation issued March 4 proclaiming March as Developmental Disabilities Month.
Devon also told the board that the employer recognition dinner which was held March at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center March 10 was expanded this year to recognize outstanding Direct Support Personnel (DSPs) in the county and gave special thanks to Shirley Bowald and her staff along with Carrie Lawton.
The DD staff versus the Comets game will be held on March 25 at 5:30 p.m. at David Anderson High School and The Accreditation for Board Services will take place on June 24-25.
Devon said the goal is to get a three-year accreditation over the annual or two year-year accreditation.
Board members approved advertising for sealed bids on buses 33 and 34 declaring they are no longer needed for public use, the 2025 Annual Report as submitted, graduation for two students to be held at the Robert Bycroft School on May 21 at 1:30 p.m., to rescind policy 303 for Early Intervention Program and replace it with Early Intervention Service Policy as submitted, the membership renewal with the Disability Housing Network for a fee of $701 and the all-staff board in-service to be held on Aug. 19-20 with a budget of $5,000.
The Financial Report and payment of bills were approved as submitted.
A resolution authorizing the execution and delivery of a master electric energy sales agreement between the board and Power4Schools endorsed electric supplies, Engie Resources LLC was approved.
There was no old business from the superintendent or the board and no new business from the board.
The Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities meets the third Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. at the administration building, 7675 state Route 45, Lisbon.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for April 15.
