NEW CUMBERLAND – An Ohio woman is facing charges of grand larceny after allegedly stealing a car from a Hancock County resident Wednesday.

Natasha Baron, 30, of Massillon, currently is being held in the Columbiana County Jail pending extradition to West Virginia.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call from a county resident reporting he had started his vehicle, going back inside his residence only to find his vehicle gone approximately 20 minutes later.

The caller noted his wife heard the vehicle driven away shortly before calling 911.

While in the north end of Newell, Lt. Doug Wade identified the vehicle, through a description provided by the owner, attempting to stop the driver which began a pursuit into Chester and then East Liverpool involving Hancock County deputies, Chester Police, and East Liverpool Police.

The driver, identified as Baron, eventually stopped at the Wellsville exit from northbound Route 11, but allegedly fought with officers as they attempted to remove her from the vehicle, resulting in officers breaking out the vehicle’s windows and using a Taser to take Baron into custody.

She was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital for a medical review and then to the Columbiana County Jail.

Additional charges may be filed in relation to the incident.
