Wellsville replaces village solicitor
WELLSVILLE — Wellsville council members voted unanimously to name Assistant Columbiana County Prosecutor Christopher Weeda as the new village solicitor during Tuesday’s meeting of the Wellsville Village Council.
Council President and Personnel Chair Keith Thorn requested an executive session during the meeting to discuss personnel matters. He invited Mayor Bob Boley, Fiscal Officer Hoi Wah and Weeda to the session.
Following the executive session, council members voted to return to an open meeting where they voted for Weeda to replace John Gamble as the village solicitor.
Council also approved an ordinance by emergency measure to give the full-time village employees and part-time sewage and police officers and the zoning officer a $1 an hour pay increase and to allow village police officers who have not and will not be taking their vacation or personal time off by the end of the year for the current year the option to receive the cash value of their accumulated unused time providing they let the fiscal officer know of that decision by Dec. 19.

She also noted there is a grant the village could apply for in March in which they could help with the marina project.
Thorn said he received a letter from Columbia Gas notifying him that the IRP rate on the gas bills for will be raised by $1.37 per month per customer and they also want to remind everyone 10.81% surcharge for gas rates which will take it up to $21.61
