ELHS Culture Club Christmas trip
East Liverpool High School Culture Club students enjoyed a festive and educational Christmas trip that blended history, culture, cuisine, and classic holiday tradition during a memorable excursion to Akron and Canton earlier this month. The trip began with a visit to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, one of the largest historic estates in the United States. Students toured the former home of F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, gaining insight into early 20th-century life inside the 65-room Tudor Revival mansion built in 1915. Decorated for the holiday season, the estate featured festive decor and twinkling lights throughout the home and gardens, offering students a glimpse into historic holiday traditions in a magical setting. The trip concluded with a showing of It’s a Wonderful Life at the historic Canton Palace Theatre. Originally released in 1946 and starring James Stewart as George Bailey, the beloved film delivered its timeless message about kindness, community, and the impact of one life on many. Experiencing the classic movie inside a historic theater added an extra layer of nostalgia and holiday magic for students. The Culture Club Christmas trip offered students a meaningful opportunity to engage with history, culture, and tradition while celebrating the holiday season together. The experience reflected East Liverpool City Schools’ commitment to enriching learning beyond the classroom and creating lasting memories for students. (Submitted photo)
