WELLSVILLE — Charges are pending against a village man, after law enforcement executed a search warrant Dec. 22 on his Independence Square home.

Bryce Young, his wife and five children were home around noon when members of the Columbiana County Drug task Force, the county sheriff’s office and Wellsville police served the warrant.

County DTF director Jesse Smith said Young’s wife was quickly released with the children, so agents could turn their attention to searching the Young home. They recovered items of drug paraphernalia consistent with trafficking including U.S. currency and suspected narcotics –both in larger quantities and prepackaged for sale in smaller units.

Smith said law enforcement had been receiving tips about possible criminal activity at Young’s address from neighbors for a while, specifically citing the high traffic to the residence.

He expects test results could result in arrests in late January.

In addition, Smith also thanked the county prosecutor and Ohio Adult Parole as well as the following departments for assistance: Columbiana, East Liverpool, Liverpool Township and Salem.
