Marilyn Nixon

1935-2025

Marilyn Nixon, 89, of Newell passed away on Wednesday November 12, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on December 8, 1935, in Lennyville, the daughter of the late Harold and Elenora (Sevin) Miller. Besides her parents, she was precede in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Nixon, a son, Richard Nixon Jr. a daughter-in-law, Nancy Nixon and a great-granddaughter Tessa. She was also preceded by two brothers, Frank and Harold Miller and a sister Genevieve McDole.

Marilyn was a lifelong resident of the Newell area she was owner/operator of Nixon Cleaning service working at Airco Gases.

She is survived by four sons, Don (Reba) Nixon of Texas, Mike (Penny) Nixon of Lennyville, Mitch Nixon, of Newell and Randy Nixon of Alaska; eight grandchildren, Richard III, Christopher, Stephanie, Julia (Steven), Randall (Melissa), Chrissy (Greg), Shannon and Amber (Bill); sixteen great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and one on the way. Marilyn is also survived by three sisters-in-love, Janet, June and Linda. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday November 19, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 am. Private interment will follow at Locust Hill.
