Holiday assistance

With the holidays around the corner from what already is on record as the second longest government shutdown in history, there are entities able and willing to help with everything from food insecurity to making Christmas bright for the struggling.

– House of Grace: Is allowing donors to adopt needy families. With a $40 donation per family, the recipient can receive an entire Thanksgiving dinner.

For Christmas, once again donors either can adopt-a-senior or donate new toys to a child. For more information on any of those programs, call 330-385-2122.

– The Way Station: The Way Station also will be doing a toy giveaway. New boxed toys can be donated at any of the chain’s three locations in Columbiana, East Liverpool or East Palestine. Call (330) 482-5072 for more information.

– The Community Resource Center: Misfit Glass gallery and vape shops are collecting non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys suitable from both to age 16 at its locations for throughout East Liverpool until Dec. 12.

Starting at $2.99/week.
