Eyes on Wellsville to hold annual trunk-or-treat and haunted trail events

WELLSVILLE — Eyes on Wellsville Inc. will be holding its annual Halloween events Trunk-or-Treat and the Haunted Trail for the community again this year.

The Trunk-or-Treat is a free event and will be held in the Wellsville Jr. Sr. High School parking lot, 1 Bengal Blvd., on Oct. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m.

The foundation has candy to hand out but is still accepting additional candy donations. They currently have 20 cars registered for candy distribution and are seeking more.

Organizations/businesses and individuals already registered to hand out candy include Eyes on Wellsville, Loud and Proud Boosters, Wellsville Carnegie Public Library, North Star Critical Care, Wellsville Alumni Activities Committee, Wellsville Takedown Club, Rich’s Gas Station, Eagle Rental, Wellsville Lady Tigers Basketball with six cars, Grant Barlow, Consumers Bank, Christy Hughes, Prime Towing, Nick’s Pizza, Orange and Black Football Boosters and Bermuda Tan.

Any business/organization or individual who wants to participate can register no later than Oct. 8. There is no registration fee to participate. The only cost is the treats a participant hands out and decorations for the trunk.

The foundation is anticipating at least 400 children to attend the event.

The Haunted Trail will be held at Hammond Park on Oct. 25 with mini eyes from 5 to 6 p.m., and the haunted trail from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

The mini eyes is a less scary version of the haunted trail and is for children of all ages. It is designed for the those who don’t want to do the scarier haunted trail.

The mini eyes includes pumpkin coloring, a costume contest and a daylight walk through of the trail.

There will be a concession stand at the haunted trail events with hot dogs, drinks, hot chocolate, potato chips and baked goods for sale.

The admission cost to the Haunted Trail is a monetary donation or the donation of a brand-new unwrapped toy except stuffed animals, since the event is also the kickoff to the Christmas toy drive.

The Eyes on Wellsville Foundation is in need of volunteers to help with the haunted trail event.

For additional information, donations, registration or to volunteer at either of the events, contact Kari Daniels at 330-303-6394 or Jennifer Tate at 330-708-1930 by phone call or text or message either one of them through their Facebook pages or the Eyes on Wellsville Facebook page.
