Disposition hearing set for man accused of voyeurism at school

LISBON — A disposition hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23 for Scott Andre, 49, charged with voyeurism for allegedly watching a female student changing in the girls locker room last year at the Leetonia K-12 campus.

Andre, Chestnut Extension, Leetonia, was scheduled for a pretrial hearing Thursday in Columbiana County Municipal Court, but Judge Tim McNicol said the case was reset for the new date. The second-degree misdemeanor count stems from an alleged incident that occurred on April 1, 2024.

Andre is represented by defense attorney Jeff Jakmides, with the prosecution represented by county Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer Bonish.

The criminal case wasn’t filed until May this year, but Andre was fired in February from his job as a Leetonia school bus driver. He remains out of jail after posting a $750 surety bond.

According to the affidavit filed by Leetonia Police: “On or about April 1, 2024, Scott Andre did, with the purpose of viewing another person’s (12-year-old female student) private areas, walk into and remain in the girl’s locker room after being told not to go in as a female was changing, and did watch that female remove her top, viewing her mid section and upper body.”

According to a previous published report, Andre had been placed on paid administrative leave earlier this year pending an investigation into alleged misconduct, then was dismissed by the school district in February following a disciplinary hearing on Feb. 13.

Andre was also terminated as the head softball coach, a position he had been appointed in July 2024 July. He had been a bus driver with the Leetonia school district for three years.
