Trustees approve participation in Opioid Settlement
LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — During Tuesday’s meeting of the East Liverpool Township Board of Trustees, the trustees approved a resolution to take action to participate in new National Opioid Settlements.
Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati said in her report that she was performing day-to-day activities, filed the State of Ohio mandatory filing for camera ticket funds and completed the Records Retention Policy.
Flati noted that while the township only receives a couple of dollars here and there for the camera ticket fund, she still has to complete the filing every July.
She also said that she had to redo the Record Retention Policy to include camera. The updated policy was approved by the trustees.
Fire Chief Dave Ward told the trustees that maintenance was needed on the trucks and that squad 24 needs to be checked to find out why it keeps shutting down, squad 22 has the check engine light on and engine 23 has the check engine light on intermittently.
Police Chief Jarod Kinemond told the trustees the new radar units purchased by the patrolman’s association at a cost of approximately $6,000 had been installed in two police cars and that he had to have the exhaust fixed on a squad car after an officer ran over a deer.
Trustee Dennis Giambroni said during the last litter pickup, there were four bags of garbage and a tire picked up. He noted the streets are looking pretty good and they will probably wait a couple of weeks to schedule the next litter pickup. He also said Litter Program Director Marion Perkins was considering a litter pick up along Dresden Avenue.
Road Supervisor Chris Bosworth said things were good at the shop and the road crew has been busy with daily activities and ditching.
The trustees approved Bosworth’s request to purchase 10 signposts at a cost of $20 each for a total of $200.
Trustees approved the payment of bills totaling $99,065.05.
Giambroni said that he had three nuisance letters ready to be mailed.
He also said that there would be a computer outage on Aug. 22 while new equipment is installed at the administration building. The outage would last three to four hours and begin at approximately 4 p.m.
Giambroni requested an executive session for personnel/discipline matters and invited Flati and Ward to be part of it. The trustees returned to open meeting following the session with no action taken.
There was no legislation to vote on.
The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees meets every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the township administration building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 19.
