The East Liverpool Rotary Club held its first Golf Ball Drop fundraiser July 26 in connection with the East Liverpool City Hospital Community Day. Over 1,000 tickets were sold and each ticket represented a numbered golf ball. The balls were dropped from a fire truck onto a target, which was painted on the grass field across from the hospital. The ball that landed closest to the center of the target belonged to Mark Lentz, who won the $1,000 cash prize. The club thanked East Liverpool City Hospital for partnering with it and hosting a successful event. Rotary would also thanked The East Liverpool Beautification Society for helping to sell tickets. The club is also grateful for the assistance of the East Liverpool Fire Firefighters Local 24 who used their ladder truck and dropped the balls. All the proceeds of the fundraiser will go back into the community. An aerial view of the East Liverpool City Hospital Community Day. (Submitted photo)
