Calcutta VFD to host Community Day Movie Night
ST. CLAIR TWP.–Members of the Calcutta Volunteer Fire Dept. are inviting residents to join them for a movie night to be held from 5-10 p.m. Saturday at the Station 10, 15445 Pugh Road.
The event is a free family event and will feature fire truck displays, K-9 demonstrations, inflatables, a kid’s water battle, open fire house, snow cones, food, a dunk tank, cornhole games, fire drills and face painting.
Later in the evening “Minecraft the Movie” will be shown.
WLC Club
The WLC Club met Aug. 19 at the Living Well Church with leader Mary Jarvis opening the meeting with prayer and then roll call.
Barb Q was the biggest loser and Jarvis wore the officers ribbon. The challenge will be carried over until next week. The inchworms for July were Betty Pease and Jarvis.
The nono is potato chips and Connie Hissam won the 50/50 drawing. Jarvis will have the program next week.
Barb read two funny stories and then Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.
Tops Ohio 1341
Tops Ohio 1341 met at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church with leader Mary Gailey presiding. Dorothy Garn was best loser and Cathy Wollam was runner up. They chose bread and potato chips as the junk foods for the next two weeks.
Drawing winners were: Garn,Calorie chart and 50/50; Wollam, weight loss and jackpot; Lydia Kraft, junk food.
Other winners were: Garn and Wollam, three times in best losers book; Kraft, attendance; and returning from vacation without a gain was Darlene Naukem. Kraft won the check contest. Cheryl Myers held the travel box for the first week.
The rules for the new contest, “Don’t Feed The Sharks” were discussed and members were given a copy of those rules. The tally of the first week will occur on Sept. 8. There is no meeting on Labor Day.
Becky Andrew’s presented a program on motivation in our journey to be healthier. A discussion followed.
The pledges and concerns opened the meeting and closed with The Lord’s Prayer.
