Free Community Dinner
Trinity Parish Presbyterian Church will host the Free Community Dinner Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. in a new location, the Newell American Legion, 538 Washington St. Newell, W.Va. The meal is take out and eat in. This month will feature fried chicken, macaroni salad, fresh fruit, roll and dessert. The Free Community Dinner is a mission of Trinity Parish Presbyterian Church and is free and open to all who like good food. For information call Kim at 330-383-2545 or Cindy at 330-207-7561.
Family-to-Family Class
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Free Family-to-Family Class, an eight-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental illness, will be held from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 5 through Nov. 24, at the Eloise Traina Center of Hope, 320 Benton Road, Salem. The group setting of NAMI Family-to-Family provides mutual support and shared positive impact. Sharing one’s own experience may help others in the class. In the program, participants will learn about: how to solve problems and communicate effectively, taking care of yourself and managing your stress, supporting your loved one with compassion, finding and using local supports and services, up-to-date information on mental health conditions and how they affect the brain, how to handle a crisis, current treatments and therapies, and the impact of mental health conditions on the entire family. Purse Bingo Sept. 13
The Community Action Agency of Columbiana County Inc. (CAACC) is hosting its first Purse Bingo on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. (doors open at 3 p.m.) at the Washingtonville VFW, 575 S. County Road, Washingtonville. Tickets are $35 each and include a bingo booklet for 10 games for 10 purses. Daubers will be available for purchase separately. Additional fun: bonus game ($10), 50/50, door prizes, Chinese auction and more. Check out the purses up for grabs on Facebook: CAA of Columbiana County in the weeks leading up to the event. BWD inspections
The Buckeye Water District will be visually inspecting for Backflow and Cross Connection to make sure all commercial and industrial businesses are in compliance with rules regulations per OEPA concerning Backflow and Cross Connections. Sanford Plumbing will be doing all inspections for the Buckeye Water District.
