‘Back-to-School Drive-Through’

Columbiana County Community Actions Agency’s Health, Behavioral Health and Dental Centers’ “Back-to-School Drive-Through” will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 670 Walnut St., East Liverpool. All families are welcome to stop by to receive back-to-school supplies. There will also be tables set up for those walking and need school supplies.

Benefit breakfast

The Sandy & Beaver Insurance Breakfast Club breakfast benefiting the Lisbon Montessori Preschool will feature children show characters Bluey and Bingo this Friday from 8-11 a.m. at its offices located at 108 North Market Street in Lisbon.

CAA children event on tap

The Columbiana County Community Action Agency’s Socializing in the Sun continues Thursday at Thompson Park in East Liverpool at Pavilion 1 from noon-1:30 p.m. with free hot dogs and children activities.

Paper shredding event

A free community shred event is planned at Lisbon’s Lepper Library 10-11 a.m. on Aug. 16. Up to three bags or boxes of paper can be shredded. Boxes and bags are to be left in the car and volunteers will remove them at the back of the library as vehicles pull up. For more information call 330-424-3117.

Movie Night returns in Calcutta

The Calcutta Fire Department will hold its fourth annual Summer Community Day Open House Movie Night Aug. 30 from 5-10 p.m. The event is a family fun free with bounce houses, cornhole, fireman games, fire trucks, a dunk tank, a K-9 demonstration, free food, giveaways, face painting, movie in the lawn at night with a screening of the Minecraft The Movie and live music, and more.

HC Democratic Committee

The Hancock County Democratic Executive Committee will hold its monthly meeting on Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. and the Hancock County Democratic Women will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Steel Cafe and Grill (inside the Steel Bowling Alley) located on Elaine Street, Weirton. The Annual Meeting scheduled for Sept.19-21 at the Holiday Inn Morgantown – University Area, 1188 Pineview Dr., Morgantown, West Virginia, will be discussed further.
