East Liverpool Arts Week begins today
East Liverpool Arts Week begins today at the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is located at 120 E. Fifth St.. The art show opening is at 10 a.m. and the Elsa Rubin Copper Tray Painting Workshop is from 1-3 p.m.
Open studio painting class will be held from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the Museum of Ceramics. An oil painting workshop led by Nancy Hawkins will be from 1-3 p.m. at the Hall of Fame.
Thursday will feature a colored pencil bird drawing workshop from 1-3 p.m. with Brad Cowsert at the Hall of Fame.
The week concludes with a weekend artist retreat at the Sturgis House, 122 W. Fifth St., from 10 a.m. Friday to noon Sunday. The event will feature a painting demonstration by nationally-acclaimed artist Christopher Leeper.
Coloring contest winners will be announced this week. Professional artist Jeanie Gordon is serving as judge.
East Liverpool Arts Week is sponsored by The Pear Tree Shop, True North, The Museum of Ceramics, The Sturgis House, Petal and Pearl at The Carriage House, Liquitex, M. Graham & Co., Rosemary & Co. and Michael Harding.
