EL special meeting

The East Liverpool City Council’s Finance and Labor committees will hold a special meeting July 17 at 5:45 p.m. for the committees to consider resolutions allowing the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to mow grass on the highways inside the city limits and a renewal levy for the Carnegie Public Library. The East Liverpool City Council will meet immediately following the committee meeting at 6 p.m. to consider any proposals passed onto council from the committees. Both meetings will be held in council chambers at East Liverpool City Hall, 126 W. 6th St.

Pasta dinner

Salineville Assembly of God is hosting a pasta dinner at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19 at the Salineville Fire Department, where the beneficiary serves as fire chief. This event, along with the SFD’s basket raffle, will help Jeff Lewis with expenses associated with surgery and treatments for throat cancer. The fire station is located at 34 Washington St.

Student Send-Off Picnic

The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Columbiana County will hold its annual Summer Student Send-Off Picnic on Thursday Aug. 7 at Pavilion 4, Firestone Park, Columbiana. Meet and greet is at 5:30 p.m. with a catered meal at 6 p.m. All alumni and their families, incoming freshman and current OSU students and their families as well as friends of OSU are invited. All OSU students in attendance will be entered in a drawing for two $250 door prizes. Non-student adults are asked for a donation to offset event costs.
