Brightside Project to host pool party Monday
SALEM — The Brightside Project will be hosting a pool party for Columbiana and Mahoning County teens Monday, according to a press release.
The “Youth Summit Pool Party” will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Centennial Park pool and splash pad.
“The Brightside Project invites all teens from Columbiana and rural Mahoning County to make a splash at this summer’s most anticipated teen event,” reads the release.
The event is free to attend and open to all teens, promising “an evening full of fun, friends, and free treats.” According to the release, the event includes free entry to the pool, “swag bags for all teens who check in,” free food and drink including hot dogs, and snacks, and free Kona Ice courtesy “compliments of the Ohio Oil & Gas Industry. Wristbands will be distributed to attendees during check-in.
“It’s incredibly important to us to continue creating opportunities for teens to come together in a safe, positive environment where they can build relationships, make healthy choices, and simply enjoy being kids,” said Brightside Project Co-Director Lisa Vittorio. “In a world that constantly bombards teens with negative influences, we want to be a source of light — reminding them that they are seen, valued, and supported.”
According to the release the event is “more than just a pool party — it’s a celebration of summer, connection, and community” which will give the teens in attendance an opportunity to “relax, cool off, and enjoy a safe and positive space surrounded by peers and caring adult role models.”
