LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP -- Liverpool Township Fire Chief Dave Ward told the township trustees in his report Tuesday about a fire that morning on Kings Ridge Road which destroyed a house. Ward wanted to thank everyone who was there for their assistance.
Ward also told the trustees that the squad truck was having a sensor issue, and they may need to have that taken care of.
The trustees approved the payment of bills totaling $65,228.97, a resolution to supplement appropriations for the General Fund line item contracted services in the amount of $1,000, the purchase of a new TV for the security system at the road department estimated to cost between $179 and $250, and the purchase of a set of tires for the road department's 2016 dump truck at an estimate of $2,000. Road Department Superintendent Chris Bosworth will check around for a lower price. Trustees also approved purchase at a cost of $540 for a case of 25 light bulbs, 20 for the road department building and five for the administration building.
Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito Abruzzino addressed the trustees regarding Christopher Morrison being sentenced.
Police Chief Jarod Kinemond said he wanted to thank everyone involved from the prosecutor's office to BCI, Columbiana County Homicide and Columbiana County task force and the sentence was the result they wanted.
Kinemond also told the trustees that the fence for the evidence room has been installed.
Dennis Giambroni, president, board of trustees, said that Kinemond had served a nuisance letter to a problem property in Dixonville.
Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati said she was performing day-to-day activities and completed the August bank reconciliation.
Trustee Keith Burke said there was one person volunteering for litter control who picked up 14 bags of litter off Shady Side and Annesley roads. The volunteer will possibly be out Thursday to pick up more on different streets.
Larry Taylor from Treble Energy, the aggregate energy provider for the area, spoke at the meeting about the aggregate program and said rates might be higher but through the aggregate consumers would still save money on their energy rates. He also noted that it would be after the election before they started locking in rates, because he feels the election outcome could affect rates.
The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees meets every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Township Administration Building, 2485 Boring Lane. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Oct. 1.
