John David Roy, a senior at South Side High School, has been selected the June Student of the Month by the South Side Education Association. Roy is the son of Julie and Greg Roy of Clinton, Pa.
Throughout high school, Roy has participated in South Side's football team, track and field team, weightlifting, Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science and National Honor Society.
Roy has been named to the Distinguished Honor Roll throughout high school, has received the AP scholar award and participated in the Football Gold All Academic Team.
After graduation, Roy plans to attend Seton Hill University.
