CHESTER - The Hilltop Drive-in soon will have new owners.
According to a post on the business' Facebook page Saturday, the drive-in movie theater, the only one still operating in the Northern Panhandle, has been sold.
Owner Katie Beaver previously announced plans to sell the drive-in, citing health issues.
"It will remain a drive in theater," notes the social media post from Beaver, adding she plans to reveal the new owners at a later time, and provide an opportunity for the public to meet with them.
Beaver previously announced she would be on-hand for a while to assist with the transition.
Beaver took over operation of the drive-in, located along Route 8 in Chester, in 2014 from her father, Joe Danko. Danko purchased the business in 1988.
"I also want to take this time to thank everyone for all your trust and loyalty to me and my family," Beaver said in the social media post.
First opened in 1950, the Hilltop Drive-in features digital projection and a single screen to showcase up to two movies a night, as well as a concession stand.
