Chester woman arrested for embezzling over $219K

NEW CUMBERLAND — A Chester woman has been arrested for embezzling over $219,000 from a local business.

Jessica Marie Cremeans, 38, was arrested Thursday on warrants out of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, charged with 56 felony counts of embezzlement. In March the victim, Smith Oil INC, New Cumberland, filed a complaint for stolen money from the business totaling $219,191.63.

Cremeans was arraigned and is currently being held at the West Virgina Northern Regional Jail on $40,000 bond. A court date has not yet been determined.

The Hancock County Sheriffs Office thanked the New Cumberland and the Weirton police departments in their assistance in the apprehension of Cremeans.
