Resolutions were approved with all in favor votes for power sweeping services and waste management during Monday's St. Clair Township Board of Trustees meeting.
The power sweeping is for street cleaning services at $170 an hour which is approximately $15 more than last year.
The waste management resolution is one being signed by all municipalities in Columbiana County who take part in the solid waste management plan for the Carroll-Columbiana-Harrison Joint Solid Waste Management and pertains to the township's two recycling sites.
Police Chief Brian McKenzie told the trustees that two-thirds of the department's cruisers recently had fire extinguishers installed in them and that Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department provided the officers with training on how to use the extinguishers.
The chief also noted that officers had gone through training on the tasers used by the department currently and would go through training again when they receive the new ones around May. There will be two department officers certified as trainers on the new tasers.
Road Supervisor Scott Barrett asked the trustees to approve participating in a program with Columbiana County Jobs and Family Service so he could hire a part-time employee through the program. The trustees gave unanimous approval.
Also approved was a roof leak repair in the amount of $350 and the appointment of Trustees Jordan Williams and Robert Swickard to the Glenmoor Fire Department Dependency Board.
Fiscal Officer Deborah Dawson said she finished the year-end processing, filed the financial reports with the State Auditor's Office and completed the bank reconciliation.
Purchase orders totaling $6,095.50, blanket certificates totaling $120,370.00 and bills totaling $116,103.75 were approved for payment.
The St. Clair Township Board of Trustees meet every other Monday at 4 p.m., in the Peter Metrovich Community Room at the Township Administration Building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 11.
