CALCUTTA -- St. Clair Township Trustees met Saturday morning for a brief meeting, as their regular session falls on a federal holiday.
The only order of old business was approval of an electric aggregation letter that will be sent to township residents, detailing the electric aggregation plan. The township chose Dynegy to be the preferred electricity supplier. The last contract with Energy Harbor, who was acquired by Dynegy expires in February.
Participating St. Clair Township residents pay 6.556 cents per kilowatt though their meter as a supply line item on their AEP Ohio bill. This new plan begins in March and runs through December 2025.
If they elect to opt out of the program, they need to contact Dynegy at 888-682-2170, complete and mail the included form in the letter to Dynegy, PO Box 650764; Dallas, Texas 75265-0764

Trustee Jim Sabatini reminded residents wanting to automatically continue as a part of the aggregation program did not have to do anything.
Members also:
--Approved EP Ohio's application to work within a township right-of-way on Croxall ROAD.
--Requested the county prosecutor prepare a resolution regulating marijuana sales at adult use dispensaries within the township due to the passage of Issue 2. "The last thing we need is unregulated dispensaries popping up on (state route) 170 and St. Clair," explained trustee Bob Swickard.
--Accepted the certification of 2024 township road miles, which now includes Columbia Drive, in its 70.620 count.
--Renewed a weed control contract with Youngstown-based Grace Services, which includes an increase of $400. "We could not possibly do it for this, so we are saving money,' Swickard explained with the other two trustees agreeing. The weed control is for areas surrounding township guardrails.
All members were present and paid $94,259.63 in bills.
The next two township meetings will be at 4 p.m. Jan. 29 and Feb. 12 in the Peter Metrovich Community Room of township hall.
