EAST LIVERPOOL- Volunteers going through books donated recently to the Second Chance Book Nook located at 135 W. Fifth Street discovered a considerable sum of money in a book recently donated to the bookstore.
Fred Miller and his wife Caren, who managed the Second Chance Book Nook for the Way Station in East Liverpool, are hoping to find the donor and return the cash.
"We want to get the word out so somebody can figure out if they were the one who left the books," Fred said.
Volunteers have gone through the donated books to try to find names, but the books were used and there were all different kinds of names in them, so there is no way to tell if they are the names of the people who donated them.
Security footage is also being reviewed to see if a picture of the donor can be found
The books have been set aside and the Millers are hoping someone will be able to come in and tell them what books they donated and when as a way to identify the owner.
For those seeking information they can stop at The Second Chance Book Nook. Hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., on Thursdays and 2-5 p.m., on Saturdays. Or they may contact Caren Miller at at 304-479-4060. She will need to know when the books were donated, what the books were and how many were donated to claim the money.
