LISBON -- The case against Ashley Croley, the Youngstown woman accused of escaping from a Lisbon lockup, stealing a car and running over the owner's foot while fleeing, remains unresolved.
Croley, 38, appeared this week in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court before Judge Scott Washam for a scheduling hearing Thursday. She was accompanied by her defense attorney, James Wise.
Croley had been in jail since her arrest on Sept. 28, but recently posted bail of $75,000 cash or surety to secure her release.
Her jury trial remains set for Feb. 5, but there's a status hearing set for 9:15 a.m. Jan. 26. That's the same day she's scheduled appear for a preliminary hearing in Mahoning County Court in Canfield on a breaking and entering charge. A second breaking and entering case remains pending in Mahoning County.
The state was represented in the Coumbiana County case by county Assistant Prosecutor Alec Beech.
Croley was indicted on charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, third-degree felonies of escape and vehicular assault and fourth-degree felony grand theft of a motor vehicle. Before U.S. Marshals found her in Youngstown in September, she had been on the run since Aug. 5 when she allegedly escaped from the Eastern Ohio Correction Center, a community-based facility located in Lisbon.
After she allegedly scaled the fence, she made her way to East of Chicago Pizza, also on North Market Street, where she allegedly stole a blue Chevy Cobalt, then ran over the foot of Timothy Felt when he came outside from picking up an order and saw her taking off with his car.
She had been sentenced last summer to serve up to six months at the EOCC as a requirement of probation for a previous drug charge after she violated the terms of community control
