Members of the Mt. Sinai Fire Baptizing Holiness Church and the Wellsville Area Ministerial Association (WAMA) jointly celebrated the retirement of Pastor Darlene Zanders at a banquet Nov. 19 at the Wellsville Alumni Center. For the past 14 years, Zanders served as senior pastor of Mt. Sinai FBH Church. Her legacy includes 50 years of ministry having served as pastor in Youngstown and Lima, Ohio, and Long Island, New York. She is a long-standing member of the Wellsville Area Ministerial Association serving for more than two decades.

She also has been involved in the community serving as village liaison for four different administrations including the current mayor, Bob Boley. In that role, Zanders instituted the annual graduating seniors breakfast with the mayor. Currently, she supports the Elevate Worship Center’s coffee shop and the Wellsville Food Pantry.

In addition to members of Mt. Sinai and WAMA, guests included family members and fellow clergy as well as Boley and his wife.
