ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP -- Following an all-in-favor approval to execute the agreement between St. Clair Township and Gannett Fleming during Monday's trustees meeting, Trustee Jordan Williams announced that drilling/core sampling for the Fredericktown Road slip repair project will begin Dec. 18, weather permitting.
Police Chief Brian McKenzie told the trustees that calls and incidents responded to by officers were lower in November than they were in October. They responded to 98 incidents in October and 73 in November.
Calcutta Fire Chief Dave McCoy said that he and McKenzie were working to conduct a fire extinguisher class so officers can carry fire extinguishers in their patrol cars in case they were needed while responding to an accident or other emergency involving fire.
The trustees gave their approval for a water line permit and permission to work in a right-of-way to Brad's Carpet &Upholstery Cleaning Inc. The new banners were hung by the road department in Calcutta Community Park and the Christmas lights in the park were lit on Dec. 1.
The trustees approved purchase orders totaling $67,137.32 and payment of bills totaling $117,413.44.
The township offices will be closed Dec. 25 for Christmas and Jan. 1 for New Year's Day.
The St. Clair Township trustees meets every other Monday at 4 p.m. in the Peter Metrovich Community Room located in the back of the township administration building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 18. The following regular meeting along with a reorganization meeting will be held Dec. 30 at 8 a.m. due to the next regular meeting day being a holiday.
