LISBON -- A Youngstown man ordered to prison for nine months for soliciting another person to send drugs to the Columbiana County jail filed a notice of appeal Tuesday to challenge his sentence.
Michael Faiola, 39, filed the paperwork with the Seventh District Court of Appeals over his sentence issued last month by Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Megan Bickerton.
Bickerton ordered that the nine-month sentence for a fourth-degree felony attempted complicity in the commission of an offense be served consecutively to a three-year prison term he's already serving for a Mahoning County case.
He must serve those three years first, followed by the nine months for the Columbiana County case.
Faiola was originally charged with complicity in the commission of an offense, a third-degree felony, related to a case of a woman charged with illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specialized government facility, a third-degree felony, for an incident March 7, 2022 at the county jail.
The Mahoning County case involved charges of weapons under disability, a third-degree felony, and possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony. Charges of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.
