EAST LIVERPOOL -- City voters selected a new mayor Tuesday.
Voters elected Bobby Smith with 946 votes (49.5%), while opponents Darlene Kinsey received 425 votes (22.24%) and Shawn McKinnon 540 (28.26%), according to complete but unofficial results.
Of the 5,463 registered voters in East Liverpool, 1,965 turned out to the polls to determine the city's new mayor.
Smith, who has been involved in the city as a firefighter with the East Liverpool Fire Department and member of the city's Housing Inspection Board, said during his campaign he wants to see a change in the city and see the city rebound from the decline in all aspects it has experienced.
Calls to Smith for comment were not returned Tuesday night.
