EAST LIVERPOOL -- East Liverpool City School District is teaming up with the East Liverpool Salvation Army for the second annual district-wide food drive. Now through Nov. 15, this district wide pay it forward service project will be the first of many service learning projects for this holiday season.
Students and staff will be collecting food to stuff boxes for local families in need. Last year the drive helped fill 30 boxes and this year students are hoping to beat that number.
Boxes are available in each of the district's buildings including North Elementary, Preschool, Administration, Westgate Middle School, LaCroft Elementary and the East Liverpool Junior Senior High School.
When filled, each box will feed a family of three for three days. Items include cereal, pancake mix, syrup, spaghetti sauce, cans of vegetables and fruit, packages of mashed potatoes, cans of soup, jars of peanut butter, macaroni and cheese boxes, egg noodles and rice.
