EAST LIVERPOOL -- City council passed an ordinance Tuesday night approving Mayor Gregory Bricker to enter into an addendum with Dallis Dawson and Associates for necessary additional professional engineering services for the raw water intake improvement project to rebid the project.
The project is being rebid for additional construction inspection and administration services that will be needed during construction. This will be the third time this project has been out for bid.
The vote was six to zero and passed on first reading by an emergency measure. Council member Jeff Kreefer was absent and excused.
The council also approved an ordinance giving the housing inspector authorization to make inspections to determine the conditions of dwellings, dwelling units, rooming houses and premises located within the city. This amends a previous ordinance with the removal of the clause stating the owner or occupant of every dwelling shall give the housing inspector free access to the dwelling at any reasonable hour for the purpose of inspection. It also removes the statements saying the property owner shall provide the housing inspector with full and complete access to the premise if the inspector has given 48-hour notice and it will be unlawful for a property owner or agent to fail to provide the housing inspector access to the premise to complete an investigation
Other ordinances passed during Tuesday's meeting include the city entering into an agreement with Environmental Design Group for professional service for preparation and project development for the shared use path/trail project, and the approval of entering into a CRA (Community Reinvestment Area) agreement with Jessica Ludwig, JM, Styling, LLC DBA Edge Hair Studio.
Ordinances were also passed to amend budget ordinance and adjust appropriations to the budget, create a new fund for line items to make appropriations for the riverfront trail project and to create new line item and make appropriations for the fire retention ARPA grant.
All ordinances passed with a six to zero vote.
Upcoming committee meetings include Recreation/Ordinance Sept. 13 at 6 p.m., Licensing and Economic Development Sept. 20 at 6 p.m., and Finance and Labor Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. All committee meetings will be held in council chambers.
The East Liverpool City Council meets the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in council chambers at city hall. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 2.
