EAST LIVERPOOL - The 29th Annual East Liverpool High School Alumni Association (ELHSAA) On-Line Pottery Auction starts Sept. 12 and ends Sept. 26 at https://www.biddingforgood.com/ELHSAA. This is the largest fundraiser of the year with proceeds providing scholarships and operating funds. All bidding and payment processing are through the auction website.
Custom items from local potteries are an auction tradition. Fiesta Tableware Company, Newell, W.Va., manufactured and donated Fiesta and Hall China items that will be popular with many collectors. This year's auction features:
- 12 numbered Fiesta Royalty Vases glazed in 2015 color Slate (which is now discontinued)
- 12 numbered Hall China Football Teapots glazed in 2009 color Lemongrass
- 12 Fiesta 2024 Calendar Plates (decorated by W.C. Bunting) glazed in 2023 color Jade
- Over 150 consignment and donated items of local pottery and memorabilia from Homer Laughlin, Hall China, Knowles Taylor Knowles, Sterling China, Harker, Acme China, TS&T, and others.
All auction items can be viewed in-person at the ELHSAA Clocktower Building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23. Winning bidders can pick up items at the Clock Tower from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 or have the item shipped at buyer's expense.
Consignment items for the pottery auction will be taken at the Clock Tower building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 19, 21 and 22. The rules are as follows:
- Only accept items with descriptions written by sellers
- Only accept items worth over $25
- Do not accept complete sets of dishes
- Only 10 items per family
- Limit of 200 items total for auction consignment/donations
- Only items with no defects and must be local pottery
