WELLSVILLE -- The second Annual Wellsville Block Party, which will be held on June 16 from 5 to 9 p.m., is in need of vendors to set up at the event.
Anyone interested in setting up as a vendor during the event can contact Eddie Murphy, president of the Wellsville Community Foundation, by calling 714-478-5138.
The Wellsville Community Foundation in collaboration with the Elks Lodge will be hosting the event with the proceeds going to the Wellsville Community Foundation to invest back into the Village.
The event will be held on Riverside by the Elks Lodge between Sixth and Seventh streets at what Tim McNicol, vice-president of Wellsville Community Foundation, described as "a very scenic location in Wellsville along the Ohio River on the historic Riverside Avenue."
"We are really looking forward to it," McNicol said. "This is the second year for the event. We thank the Elks for their partnership and hopefully will have a large turnout."
Lori Call, the Elks manager and one of the bartenders for the block party, said that the Elks were so happy to be included in the event last year which was a huge success, that they are honored to be asked to be a part of it again this year. She also noted that she thought the foundation does a wonderful job in Wellsville especially in bringing people together for an event like this.
Call said the organization, which is a private club, opens its doors to the public for the event, which also helps them because it's a chance for them to gain new membership.
During the event the Elks Lodge will provide restrooms indoor and outdoor patio seating, pops, chips, and alcohol.
The lodge has obtained a special permit allowing the alcohol to be consumed outside on the street in the blocked off area during the party.
The event will feature bounce houses, a Chinese auction, a live band, face painting, catering by local Wellsville residents and bakers including the local Pizza Hut and Sweet Amelia's Bakery.
All Chinese Auction items were donated by local businesses and residents.
