LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP -- Liverpool Township Police Chief Jared Kinemond announced at the St. Clair Township trustees meeting Tuesday that one of the new cruisers purchased Sept. 15 by the police department had arrived and the other one is in the process of being shipped and should arrive any day now.

Kinemond asked the trustees to approve the cost of having the cruisers lettered. It's estimated that the cost will be about $750. The trustees approved the cost up to $1,000 per cruiser.

The company that does the lettering cannot get the cruisers in to be done until the first week of August. The company will put the cruisers on the list in case someone cancels. The cruisers will remain parked until the lettering can be done.

Road Department Supervisor Chris Bosworth said the new fire hydrant had been installed on 9th Avenue and requested authorization to purchase a cutting edge for the department's bucket truck at a cost of $199.

Bosworth also noted that all the roads have been swept in preparation for the chip and seal work to begin on them and they are just waiting on the weather to cooperate to get asphalt put down. Chip and seal will take place May 16-18.

The trustees approved the $4,725 needed for the installation of garage doors to close off a section of the building at the administration to keep the cold out for the road department to use.

Clean-up day for the township is May 20, beginning at 8 a.m. Drop off of household waste will end at noon or when the dumpster is full, whichever comes first. No tires, appliances, electronics or chemicals can be dropped off.

Clean-up at Spring Grove Cemetery is underway. The deadline for people to remove decorations and plants was May 1. Any benches, urns, plants, bushes or anything else that is in the way of cutting the grass will be removed. Anything that is there now will be set aside for people to pick up.

The trustees approved the payment of the bills totaling $34,073.06.

In her report to the trustees Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati said that she had filed the ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) annual reporting, applied for the county's culvert pipe grant for the Road Department, Worked on April's bank reconciliation, overnighted the cable resolution back to Charter Services, received another round of DEA funds in the amount of $5,850, received OTARMA insurance money for the fire department due to their exposure of the train derailment in the amount of $26,665 and is preparing to start the 2024 budget for next year, for which she needs any additional expenses from the departments.

The trustees reviewed and accepted the new road department's policy and procedure handbook.

Liverpool Township trustees meet every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the township's administration building. The next meeting is scheduled for May 16.
