Monica Robb Blasdel to run for State Representative

COLUMBIANA – Monica Robb Blasdel of Columbiana has announced her intention to run for election as state representative in the 79th district. She plans to file her petitions with the Board of Election prior to the February deadline.

The seat is being vacated due to term limits of current State Representative and Speaker Pro Tempore, Tim Ginter. The newly established 79th House District encompasses the majority of Columbiana County and all of Carroll County.

“The time for standing on the sidelines is over. Join us in our campaign to reestablish a rule of law based on the common sense and decency required of a Christian nation. Living in harmony with safe neighborhoods and schools, free to pursue the blessings of liberty, does not happen by accident. We must be vigilant. We must be involved. Not only this generation but future generations of Americans are counting on us. I’ll look forward to seeing you during the campaign,” said Robb Blasdel.

Robb Blasdel, a Republican, is a lifelong resident of Columbiana County and a graduate of Crestview High School. She obtained her B.S. in Business Administration and minored in Entrepreneurship at the University of Akron. Her passion for business and workforce began at an early age, as she started her professional career working for her family’s small business in Columbiana County. It was there that she learned the importance of hard work and the challenges of business ownership.

Robb Blasdel worked several years in the private sector, later gaining experience in retail, sales and marketing, before joining the Ohio Lt. Governor’s team in 2011. She has served a 23-county region in Northeast Ohio, working closely with local, state and federal government, elected officials, state agencies and business organizations throughout the state for the betterment of Ohio. She has experience in education and workforce, labor relations, as well as regulatory reform and broadband expansion projects. Monica has a passion for public service and is dedicated to her community.

Robb Blasdel is the daughter of Court of Appeals Judge Carol Ann Robb and Kenneth W. Robb of New Waterford. She is married to Chuck Blasdel, former Speaker Pro Tempore of the Ohio House of Representatives. They reside in Columbiana with their daughters, Presley (5) and Raegan (3).
