Yearlong investigation comes to an end with multiple arrests

NEW CUMBERLAND -- On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, members of the Hancock-County-Brooke-Weirton Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force completed a yearlong investigation regarding the trafficking of heroin and fentanyl in Chester, WV area. This investigation led to the arrest of three subjects, Travis Keener, Heidi LaNeve, and William Stall to the felony offenses of distribution of heroin and fentanyl and the possession with the intent to deliver heroin and fentanyl, as well as possession of heroin and fentanyl. This investigation led to a search warrant at Heidi LaNeve's residence located in Chester, WV
Hancock-County-Brooke-Weirton Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force is comprised of members of the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Weirton Police Department, Brooke County Sheriff's Office, West Virginia State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
Assisting in the yearlong investigation was Chester Police Department.
In addition, the Drug Task Force served two other search warrants which took place on June 17, 2021. One warrant was for Richard Camerlin's residence at 32 Cypress Lane, Chester, WV. Camerlin was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and crack cocaine. The second warrant was served on Frank Gilbert's residence at 331 Blossom Ave., Newell, WV. He was charged with possession. The Hancock County SRT team assisted in the execution of both warrants at both locations.
