Wellsville’s Celebrate America parade
Village honors late mayor Nancy Murray and highlights community members during its Fourth of July celebration

A community mourned Saturday morning as this vehicle, which had been dedicated to Wellsville Mayor Nancy Murray and driven in the village’s Celebrate America parade, sits parked outside the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5647 headquarters in downtown. The event also included a car show and fireworks.

The Joy Family drive down Main Street Saturday morning in the bed of this pickup truck bed during Wellsville’s Celebrate America parade before winning honors as the Most Patriotic Float. All three of the brothers served in Vietnam, and they were honoring their brother Edgar. Other winners included Simply Sweets, Most Patriotic Business in the window contest; Wellsville fire engine no. 6, Best First Responders’ unit; and Sassy Silks, Best Dance Team.
These unidentified riders rode on horseback as part of the Elevate Him Worship Center float entry Saturday morning. The church eventually earned Best In Show honors for its collective entry.
