PLAYING FOR JAKE’S WAY

1 min read

Attendees at a fundraiser for a Pennsylvania-based youth charity enjoy the camaraderie, warm weather and a little Chick-fil-A Saturday afternoon in Thompson Park. The event, which included a 3×3 basketball tournament at the park's recently revamped court and a drawing for more than four dozen raffle baskets, was held to benefit Jake's Way by Kade and Ashley Reynolds of East Liverpool, who were family to the Mars, Pa. boy who died unexpectedly in March 2020. Jake Cooper's death is attributed to Sudden Unexplained Death in Children, much like S.I.D.S. is to babies. Cooper, who was 12 at his passing, loved sports and the non-profit was formed to ensure that children be able to play no matter their income or hardship. The event raised more than $5,500.
