Volunteers applied a fresh coat of paint Saturday morning to a wall on the east end of East Liverpool near the intersection of Parkway and Pennsylvania avenues. Near St. Clair and Broadway in downtown, members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge 66 were selling poppies. On Friday, May 28, the VFW lodge will be placing flags on veterans at Columbiana County Memorial Park, while Vietnam Veterans will tackle veterans' graves at Riverview Cemetery later that afternoon. East Liverpool holds its Memorial Day parade at 11 a.m. sharp Monday, May 31, in downtown East Liverpool, while Wellsville begins its services at 9 a.m. Monday, March 31, near the downtown gazebo before conducting a second service at Spring Hill Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. No information about any Memorial Day services in Chester were available at press time.
